Dear Parents, Guardians and Band Members,
SOUTHAMPTON WIND BAND ASSOCIATION
Welcome to the Southampton Wind Band Association, especially those of you who are new to the Band. All players in the Band and their parents or guardians are automatically members of the Association whose role is to support the Band in all its activities. AGM
You are all invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Association which will be held this year on Thursday 20th October, at 7.00pm at Cantell School.
The meeting will follow the Band rehearsal on that evening and is expected to last for about an hour. Refreshments will be served before the meeting and Band members not wishing to attend with their parents can be supervised in a separate room.
After serving for several years and no longer having a child in the band, I shall be standing down as Chair this year and leaving the committee. At least two other committee members will be standing down at the same time so nominations for new members of the committee will be very welcome. Please speak to me about it beforehand if you are interested. We meet 6-8 times a year to organise concerts, fundraising events and other practical help needed to support David and Elaine with the running of the Band. It can be a lot of fun and it is certainly worthwhile so please consider putting your name forward. If you need any further information, please speak to me or any other member of the committee.
Whether or not you are considering standing for the committee, please come along to hear about last year’s successes and next year’s plans. We look forward to seeing you.
